Poor.
Life is tough
We all know this
Full of bluff
And passionate kiss
One day you’re up
The next you’re down
A golden cup
Or a soldiers frown
Something to learn
Or give away
Nothing to burn
On a cold, cold day
Heart feels heavy
Legs are weak
Anvil at the smithy
Pay is bleak
Dusk is falling
Fires are alight
Youngsters are calling
Into the night
With what we get
We do our best
We do not forget
The poor mans quest
Help for those
Who have less than we
Hopeful I suppose
Better off we’ll be
Take from the rich
Give to the poor
Keep out of the kitch
Robins at the door
