Holding Out.
Enemy cannon on the hilltop
Firepower is awful strong
Don’t know how long we can hold out
But I don’t think it will be long
Half the town is on fire
We’re backed up in the stable
Most every one who can fire a gun
Is here willing and able
Josey boy josey boy
Come you back from the grave
We’re surrounded by the enemy
And need somebody brave
Ammunition is getting low
Trying to make every shot count
Looks like there’s no escape from here
Not even a horse to mount
It’s a desperate situation
All or nothing the score
Piling barrels of gunpowder
In the middle of the floor
Josey boy josey boy
Come you back from the grave
We’re surrounded by the enemy
And need somebody brave
They’re coming from all sides
Bullets splintering the wood
Not many of us left now
We’ve held out as long as we could
Doors are battered down
They’re coming through the windows
My last shot is at the gunpowder
I wander which way hell blows
Josey boy Josey boy
Come you back from the grave
We’re surrounded by the enemy
And need somebody brave
